New Address

Yup, I've already decided to move the blog. I had been reading a lot of recent blog tip posts from some of the foodie blogs I follow and it got me thinking. There's no way to know how popular this blog will be, or if I'll enjoy it years from now, though I would like to think so. But I have to plan for the future either way.

So, enough chit-chat! I've moved the blog over to wordpress. Please update your links and join me over there!

Oatmeal Brownie Bars

Does anybody else feel like time is slipping by entirely too fast? I have a bunch of recipes and pics to post but I can never seem to find enough time to dedicate toward researching food blog tips, let alone to post!

These oatmeal brownie bars were what I sent my August Bakin' Friend, Shaina from Whirl and Whisk, using the secret ingredient: oatmeal! At first I was kind of skeptical about a brownie that had oatmeal in it. Then I realized it wasn't actually an oatmeal brownie, but more like a brownie sandwiched in-between two oatmeal crumb layers. Sign me up!

Cake Batter Pancakes - A Great Way to Start My 33rd Year

Before going to bed last night, I was a bit bummed that I hadn't planned out anything for my birthday. I didn't even think about whether or not I want to make myself a little cake, or what kind it would be. And then I saw these: cake batter pancakes! I figured that's almost as good as eating cake for breakfast!

The Most Amazing Chocolate Ice Cream

We had told the roommate about this amazing ice cream we made a few months ago for the husband's birthday: rich, creamy, velvety smooth and oh-so-amazing! This was one of the best ice creams I have ever had and it's been haunting me every since. Seriously, you should really make it! Or come over and I'll make it for you!

So, today called for ice cream. For the husband's birthday, I had added a peanut butter ribbon and chunks of peanut butter cups, but I knew this time I wanted it to stand alone. I got started on the mix last night since it needed to chill. Looking at the recipe, I felt like it would take a bit. I didn't seem to recall it being difficult the last time, but with my back hurting all day yesterday, I just wasn't up to anything other than simple. Let me reassure you now: it is simple.
